The Noughts and Crosses, Polperro
Still horrid. Foul mouthed yobs keeping decent folk awake because of the smoking ban. If you are a holiday maker renting in Polperro then beware of late night noise keeping you awake. Just look at how many locals are selling to get out !! . This pub is probably the worst. As well as the noise there is the copulating and drunkeness in the street to cope with late at night. You may have a better holiday in West Ham or Moss side. Forget how well or not the beer is kept its not relevent
PS - toilets still smell.

Still not the best in Polperro by a mile. Lots of under age foul mouthed youths smoking outside make this place intimidating. The greasy inside and toilets you dont want to stay in too long make this place depressing - if you are coming to Polperro avoid this place like the plague it really is horrid - there are better places to drink and eat

Terrible - the "canteen" like lounge, the smelly toilets and the atmosphere.
The place can only be described as unwholesome.
Far too many under age youngsters from the local council estate for my liking.
One to be avoided at all costs and the worst establishment in Polperro by some way.
If you are in Polperro and want a nice pint, decent food and to actually meet the "locals" you cannot beat the Blue Peter or the Millhouse

I think there are a number of seperate points here :
[1] The pub is horrid with rubbish food , beer and toilets and a clientele from the texas chain saw massacre [ many of whom are under age as this pub is known to be "the place" for under age drinkers "no questions asked" ].
[2] Most of the cottages around the pub are holiday cottages so there are few locals to complain unlike than with other pubs in the village where locals have been on to the council. If you look on rightmove and other property websites there are quite a few "locals" trying to get out of Lansallos street probably because of the noise.
[3] The problem is mainly down to the smoking ban and people need to lobby MPs/ councillors because forcing people out of pubs into tiny streets such as in Polperro was always going to cause problems.
The situation in Polperro is not helped by those in social housing at the top of the village coming down for a "good time" and causing mayhem [ after all they are the only ones left who can afford a pint and a smoke !!].
I am afraid that if you have an idea of coming to a lovely village for a relaxing time forget it if your accomodation is near this hell hole of a pub
