By the way, it has reverted to it's old name of 'The Cape of Good Hope'.

Its Changed.
Check this place out next time you are passing, and don't miss the upstairs bar and restaurant.
An excellent job has been done on the interior - no scream yellow in site.
Fantastic range of world beers plus plenty on independent Cask Ale. A brilliant job.

True - its a fantastic bar for continental beer - un-matched anywhere else in Brum. No ale though!!

I think you know exactly what I mean about choice in this country. Ale is a different matter but like many people I no longer drink it.
Not having Cask Ale does not automatically render an establishment unworthy of sensible comment and scrutiny, especially when that establishment is a continental stlye bar/brasserie, as they claim.
Birra Moretti is probably not the best example of imported speciality Pilsner, but at least it is not brewed in south wales under license. Also, I have looked into their other new listings and the following beers are highly respected in their own right; Innis & Gunn, Schneider Weiss, Edel Weiss, Paulaner Munich.
There will be no persuading the real ale lover though, even though there is a less narrow viewpoit that is worthy of having it's view heard.

New favourtite pub for a quiet drink and a game of pool. Very rough around the edges, but thats part of its charm. Amazing old building. The beer and wine, although uninspiring, is good value.
Pool should never be 1.20 a game though.

All Bar One, Bath
The only places I know of doing draught Schneider Weisse (few others dotted around London apparently).
