The Tower Wine Bar, Lincoln

A nice enough place for a pint and has a top-notch restaurant. But doesn't really have much of a 'pub feel' to it in comparison to many of its neighbours. Feels a bit like a 'young gun' amidst such doyens as the Strugglers and Victoria.

The Victoria, Lincoln

Possbly the best pub in Lincoln. Sadly now bought up by Batemans (as Ritark pointed out), though they haven't changed a lot of it and doubtless are scared too in case they put-off local custom - without this it'd basically be a normal backstreet pub with nothing to say for itself. There are still plenty of guest ales on tap, possibly the best selection in Lincoln.

The Queen In The West, Lincoln

Went in this pub for he first time a few weeks ago and was amazed - how could I not have been in here despite having lived in Lincoln all my life?! Great watering hole that always has a few guest beers on - non of your Batemans rubbish, no, but Spitfire, Timothy Taylor Landlord, Bombardier etc. Also stocks Piper's posh crisps - better than greasy Walkers.

Landlord has had this pub for years and is an amazing chap who makes everyone feel welcome. Traditional pub that has a lounge to the left of the entrance and the bar to the right, the latter incorporating a floodlit dartboard. Customers made up of locals and a few students, with a lot of the latter now living in this part of God's Backyard. Pub could do with a lick of paint but these types are few and far between nowadays and should be cherished.

Overall, a nice pub - well worth a visit or three.

The Griffin, Brentford

Definitely the best of the 'four pubs of Griffin Park'. Extremely homely and very small and gets cramped very quickly on matchdays. But is well worth a visit. I liked the fact that, when I went in during the summer and there were only a few regulars in, I was mae to feel welcome and not like an outsider, non-local type as some pubs can feel like.
Always have a few guest ales and the London Pride is beautiful.

The Globe, Brentford

Went to the Globe for a swift pint in early August '07. Is there any better time to go for a pint in the Brentford area? Sun was setting and the London Pride was absolutely spot-on. The pub is a decent size, spacious and bar staff are friendly. Also have complimentary newspapers in case you're drinking alone. I'm looking forward to coming here again when my team play Brentford!
