Last night, cold service from a warm girl, slightly fizzy slightly weak Guiness, and half full pub. Football service is great and happy to report a strong Liverpool allegiance remains here. Food is reportedly fine. My main beef is that every time i go there is at least one oddball, stalking the pub, looking like trouble ... and noone wants to be the poor soul who gets picked on. On previous occasions it has been a drunk man pestering women - always dealt with expertly once a problem has arisen.. Difficult issue to deal with in any pub, yet a problem any pub in the heart of Lewisham should be ready to deal with BEFORE an incident starts. I hope this advice is heeded, am sure my experience is isolated, and i give this pub a tentative thumbs up.

In total agreement with all the previous posters. Come into its own since the smoking ban. I even take my mum here when she's in town. Late last year met some tourists in there from Germany -- they said it was the quaintest pub in Ingland. Not sure about that but a good range of ale, crisps and other snackettes [scratchings, scampi fries]. Pricey though, taking a point off for that.

I used to meet friends here while cycling home from work. We stopped because of the service a couple of years ago. Went back last weekend [with my son in his buggy], empty pub, surly service, nice clean pint of stella in right glass, sat down near the entrance, then got asked to leave by bar staff. There is apparently a place to sit with kids, upstairs [apparently there is a service lift for buggies!]. The staff have some cock-bull story about "the council" not allowing kids downstairs. ROT! Anyhow, within 5 mins the daft landlord comes over to pick a fight with me! SERIOUSLY! Words fail me. Awful flawed pub, worth avoiding for the service alone.

The Ravensbourne Arms, Lewisham
New management and a laudable policy to stay open til 1am most nights! Pool table and reasonably priced beer. Not the best, but certaoinly not the worst in the area. And rarely full!
