The Prince of Wales, Reigate

Thought I'd stick my nose in again after a year, mid- afternoon. Sadly, nothing changed. Its clean because the very pleasant lady serving was busy polishing mirrors. Old grumpy was living up to his title, but upon mentioning this to one of the 5 locals, was told "so would you be if you knew the Landlady !" The beer was well served but I wont be rushing back - not that they seem to care !

The Panther Inn, Reigate

Oh dear . Tempest is right . Greene King dont let trivial things like the views of their customers get in the way of a new daft idea . Another sell off for housing ?

The Skimmington Castle, Reigate Heath

Back to its best after a dodgy couple of years. Varied Real Ales, Harveys, Fullers, St. Austell, Hogs back. Good Ciders too . Can get busy with diners and their Canine friends so best tried on a sit outside day !

The Ship, Folkestone

A pub full of character and characters , with fabulous harbour views and a seafood stall opposite. Friendly hosts . 3 real ales

Lifeboat, Folkestone

Family duties cause me to visit Folkestone several times a year and the 150 mile trip is softened by the prospect of a couple of pints in the Lifeboat. A clean unpretentious backstreet pub , clinging to the hill behind the Harbour. The beer is varied and good and the locals friendly when they realise you are not a complete grockle. A nice little unspoilt pub !

The Sportsman 'Time Well Spent', Mogador

If you want to drink a pint feeling like a Pariah for occupying a table that could be better used for Diners ,this is 'the Pub' for you .The earlier reviews hardly mention the condition of the Beer (O.K) , or the wines etc. I know pubs need to sell food to survive but a drinker will feel 2nd class to Diners and wet spaniels !

The Yew Tree 'Time well spent', Reigate Hill

The smoking ban and much needed Spruce up certainly improved the tired interior of this pretty pub , but at the expense of its character. On the occasions i have stopped for a pint over the past few years I felt the atmosphere more like the reading room of a Gentlemans Club . The beer has always been good and I hear the food worthy of a mention but I drink in pubs, and enjoy the sound of Laughter and chatter with my pint, which has sadly deserted The Yew Tree in recent years. Lets hope the new Licensees can bring the smile back !

The Plough, Leigh

Quite simply , an unpretentious village local that has kept a high standard of rustic charm year after year. The varied menu is home cooked by talented chefs and in 10 years of visits the beer has always been good , albeit tied for choice by the restrictive policies of the brewers. A great destination on a dry day with loads of outdoor space and a warm welcome .

The Blue Anchor, Reigate

This pub gets through more Managers than Chelsea which is a great shame because the last guy was very good. On my second visit he remembered my name and my favourite Doom Bar which was perfectly kept . Time will tell if his high standards will be maintained, Ihope so. Visited Jun=Sept 2011

The Nutley Hall, Reigate

A spit n' sawdust pub with some 'interesting' regulars . The counter was sticky and the London Pride opaque and dull . The toilets took my breath away . I have known the pub for many years and I agree that Reigate needs a pub away from the crevats and RH2 snobs, but a few buckets of disinfectant and a line clean would not ruin its character , I visited July & August 2011

The Prince of Wales, Reigate

Very clean, very relaxed pub with very good home cooked lunchtime menu. The beers are served in sparkling condition although restricted to Shepherd Neames own brews of Bitters and Lagers. Big screen Sky t.v. and nice beer garden great for Train spotters . Faults ? The Landlord is forever busy so getting served can sometimes result in a wait and the occasional cheery smile would be welcome,
