Wish I'd read these reviews before we went here a couple of weeks ago. My Mrs ordered her usual 'healthy' option of a chicken caesar salad. Couldn't believe it - 14.95!!!!! Not even that great!
Great setting by the lake. Only go if feeling very flush.

Nice looking place but a bit dark & dingy inside which put us off having a meal.

Used to be a real dining place with great quality food & individual character. Now its a Lees pub & just another managed house cloned for pushing out average, overpriced pub grub. Tastefully done out though!

Pretty much agree with happytsskie on this one. Great freshly cooked food from a classic menu & interesting specials board. Top ales. Very clean pub. Tasteful with a classic pub feel. Unlike most 'gastro' pubs the tables aren't set up for diners, you can sit anywhere you like & don't feel out of place just having a drink. Friendly relaxed feel even though very busy when we were in.
We disagree over the prices though. We thought it was very reasonable all round. Food & drinks cheaper than most quality pubs in this part of the country, considerably so in some cases!
You get what you pay for and if you don't want pre-packed microwave junk it costs! They have a great snacks blackboard with everything 2.50. Black pudding fritters were first class - Highly recommend all round!

Went for lunch & things must have changed because we found it very good.
Recently refurbished I guess. We did wait quite a bit but you would expect to for freshly cooked food.
We ate off the Market Menu (2 courses for tenner) and it was good quality with ample portions. All in all very nice.
On the down side the loos were not great & would appear not to have been done up for many a year. (wife said ladies were grotty) and didn't quite get the TV on the window ledge?
