The Railway Hotel, Cheam

What a shame - beer quality suffering and selection of ales poor. The locals are the only thing that make this pub worth visiting and even some of them have been made to feel unwelcome by new management. Certainly not the friendly local boozer that it used to be and without a good pint on offer I will be going elsewhere.

Recently under new management this lovely traditional boozer has been tastefully refurbished and improvements are still ongoing. Most of the staff are friendly and the new bosses are fun and often around the bar for a drink and a chat. Courage is still the regular beer but they always have 3 guest beers on and there is a new selection of Italian wines. Friendly, laid-back atmosphere with a real log fire. Perfect post dog walking stop off!

Since the new owners Neil and Zoe took over this pub has improved immensely! They serve good real ale and have created a friendly welcoming atmosphere to attract new drinkers without alienating the regulars. They make a real effort to listen to peoples comments and try hard to improve the place. For a friendly pub with a real fire, real ale and lovely owners and staff; The Railway can't be beaten in the village! Well done guys, keep up the good work!
