Sir John Fitzgerald House. 6 Real Ales (2 Regulars,& 4 rotating on a weekly basis). Large restaurant area which serves excellent food but perhaps a little pricey for a Pub/Restaurant. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

The Newcastle Arms, Newcastle

If you are looking for a good selecton of well kept beers this is a great choice. if you're looking for a palstic and chrome wine bar you're in the wrong place.

The Bacchus, Newcastle

Visited 15/9/05. Good atmosphere, pleasant bar staff and a good selection of well-kept ales. One of the few city centre pubs the wife and I both like. As someone else rightly pointed out, it is a 'pub' not a 'bar' - albeit a very stylish pub.
