Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem, Nottingham
Built into the rocks below Nottingham castle, this world famous historic real ale pub has caves and rock face as part of the original interior, claiming to be the oldest in England,it has been an ale house since 1189,when Richard the lionheart rallied his knights here for the third crusade to reclaim Jerusalem, the crusaders stayed at the castle and drank within these walls, the frontage and dining room was added in the 1600's,
it attracts visitors from all over the world and is also said to be haunted with reports of poltergeist activity, curses, and ghostly apparitions,
visited 2-07,the place was clean, and although it was busy it didnt stop the friendly barman going to the store room to look for a particular t.shirt I wanted (Crusading for the holy gr-ale),beer was well kept, tried the Hardy's & Hansond olde trip and the frog island shoemaker,
its not just another great real ale pub,its a unique place well worth making the jouney to.

The George and Dragon, Wentworth
Great little 16th century village pub steeped in history and character, friendly pub that has all the wentworth beers brewed next door, and a couple of guest ale pumps that change regularly as well.

Manvers Arms, Adwick Upon Dearne
Caters for the meals of the middle classes, and cetainly not the beer drinker, all the seating and rooms cater exclusively for meals, more of a restaurant than a pub nowadays, just one real ale pump and that is always Tim taylors Landlord.

The Kelham Island Tavern, Sheffield
Absolutely superb pub, definately worth seeking out as it's off the beaten track, very friendly and welcoming with a no swearing policy, large clean rooms with extension to the rear, and a superb choice of well kept real ales, you can have your own beer festival every time you visit this pub with an ever changing array of ales, tried a stick of dynamite today at 10% along with half a dozen other new micro's.The best pub in Sheffield by far.
