I discovered this pub soon after starting working in Hammersmith last year. I love it! As has been mentioned, the beer garden is lovely and the pub itself is warm, comfortable and cosy.
As for drinks and food I can't really comment, I'm happy as long as I can get a glass of pinot and a bowl of chips! I did have the sausage and mash last Friday though, and it was very tasty.
The only thing I would say is that it can get v busy on a Friday night. If you want a table I would suggest you get down there straight after work and order a bottle of your favourite wine to avoid queuing!
It's the kind of pub where you can while away the hours with good friends. Highly recommended.

I have been going to abv/The R Bar for many years, for almost daily lunches when working in Esher, and fairly regularly since working in London.
It was always my favourite bar to go to, the owners and the staff were friendly, welcoming, attentive and geniunely interested in us! The best thing was that they didn't seem to mind that we were slightly (ahem) less sophisticated than the usual Esher crowd!
However, I went back, after not having been for a few months, a couple of weeks ago and everything had changed. The place was empty, the staff didn't seem to care if we were there or not and the atmosphere just wasn't right. I don't know what has happened, I have heard they are under new management, whatever it is I am not happy and am now thinking about taking my custom to the Bear.
I have given a score of 8 for the sake of posterity, and in the hope that my recent experience was a one off!

Woody's, Kingston Upon Thames
I haven't been in here since last summer. I went to the bar and asked for a wine list... there wasn't one, fair enough I thought. So, what wine do you have? Chardonnay, Chardonnay or errrm Chardonnay.
I haven't been back since!
