Had lunch here the other week with a group of friends. My meal was unfortunately average, and three of my friends are vegetarians, and there were only two hot main courses available for them which they didn't fancy as it was a curry and an omelette, so they had the good old cheddar ploughmans! Therefore this was abit of a shame. Yet the service was good and the prices are reasonable. However, will try again another time!

Agree with below comments that the beer is good and there is a nice selection. However i was extremely disappointed with the food which i received, it was definatley below average standard.
I would not eat here again.
The service was miserable and slow, and the atmosphere flat.
All in all not an enjoyable experience for my friend and i, which was a great shame!

It is situated in a lovely area-espcially lovely when it is sunny!
The food and the selection are good.
A nice seating area outside, not far from the river.

I recently visited the Six Bells and it is so refreshing going to a public house where the food portions are generous, freshly home cooked, well priced and absolutely delicious.
I received a lovely welcoming from the lady behind the bar and the service was prompt.
This public house has alot to offer and is well worth a visit.
Surely investing in energy efficient light bulbs is a positive point and should not be put down, eco-friendly......save the planet?????

Was not very impressed with this public house. I was ignored completely when i arrived at the bar which was not busy at all-when eventually seen too the bar tender was extremely unfriendly. To top it all off the waiter was very blunt and when i asked for french dressing i felt like an nuisance. I had a jacket potato with cheese and beans-how easy can it get and it was the worse jacket i have ever had-i can't belive they served it-the skin was black and covered in spores and the actual potato closest to the skin was green. Unfortunately i was on a time limit and just needed a quick bite to eat so had no time to complain-no one checked on us and i left before my plate was cleared. Will not be rushing back i am afraid! However it is in a lovely location and COULD be a fabulous pub!
