SSmiles does get around the pubs.They joined BITE 2 days ago and has already visited 6 pubs ?????.
Privately I have offered SSmiles the opportunity to come into the pub, buy him/her a drink and there partner and discuss areas where they think we can improve ( as stated before genuine criticism is acted upon) but to no response. Therefore this has to be classed as another bogus review. I do not stoop so low as to criticise other people in this trade as after working in it for the past 2 years I appreciate how hard a profession it is.

Due to the BITE site not recognising bogus reviews from genuine ones. I will say to anyone thinking of visiting our pub. Any review prior to July 08 was a previous owner, so should be ignored. Since then reviews from Demeter and PA Bear are bogus. Criticism from the likes of Denizen is genuine and has been addressed. As I've said before we don't get things right all of the time, and genuine criticism and concerns are acted upon.

My name is Chris Maskery and I'm the Landlord of the Fighting Cocks. Myself, my wife and business partner took over the pub 2 years ago which was in need of a lot of improvements. During the course of those 2 years we have worked extremely hard to build a thriving country pub which caters especially for families as well as seniors. We are not the finished article yet but we are moving steadily in the right direction. That is why constructive criticism and honest feedback is important to us, to help shape a better business for the future. If people have genuinely been disappointed with the service we offer, it is their right to voice those concerns. However, reading some recent reviews: they know who they are and why they wrote them, it does genuinely make a mockery of this site. The pub business is a tough one but fortunately for the Fighting Cocks, customers are voting with their feet.

May I suggest that you try the Fighting Cocks for yourself and if you have any genuine concerns, feel free to raise them either with myself or any of our 'miserable' members of staff.
