The Who'd A Thought It, Glastonbury
Poncey food at poncey prices. Beer is ok if you like Palmers. Drinks are not particularly cheap.
I looked at the menu one evening and walked out; Bangers and Mash - 10.25

I rarely pop in here but sometimes will meet a mate for a drink.
They have Guinness in cans in the fridge and an ultra-sonic device that creates the liveliness in it. Since it's not costing the landlord anything in wastage with line cleaning and drip trays (it's a perfect pint every time without any mess) the Guinness is the cheapest in town bar none. The G&P has the cheapest actual draught Guinness as far as I'm aware. I haven't tried the other beers here.
It does seem to cater toward the younger drinkers.
It has a large TV usually showing sport or soaps and a pool table in the corner, darts and a skittle alley.
It also doesn't appear to be open very often or maybe I just catch it at the wrong times. I pop in once in a while but that's it.

I don't often come here but it makes a nice change once in a while. The landlady is very friendly and runs the place with help from her family. They have regular music events.
It's a shame it's so quiet in there though. The landlady got rid of a lot of undesirables but unfortunately some of them are creeping back in and I don't think she can afford to turn away the business. She does keep them in check for the most part however, so kudos to her.
The drinks are reasonably priced and they have a good selection of beers and ciders.

The King William Inn, Glastonbury
Great little pub right in the town centre. Does a roaring food trade with a Sunday Carvery and good real ales. The food is consistently good and reasonably priced.
As mentioned by someone else the Guinness is indeed a bit pricey but nonetheless worth a night out.
They have mostly good bands on Saturday nights, playing Blues, Blues/Rock and occasionally other styles too. Some of the bands are spectacular for pub bands.
Gets a little cramped when it's a busy night but the staff are pretty quick at getting everyone served.
The have a pool table, skittle alley and a nice little beer garden (south west facing which is great).

The George and Pilgrim, Glastonbury
The Landlord and Landlady are friendly enough, when they are about. The staff are friendly, courteous and mostly efficient.
I haven't eaten here for a long time but the food looks and smells good. Large portions, in fact, too large some may say. Reports I've heard from friends and other customers are generally good. There used to be problems with orders coming out late or getting mixed up, thankfully that has been rectified since the new people took over.
They have taken on a lot of staff and made sure they very rarely run out of beer.
There's nothing worse than a bar without beer after all.
Cheapest pint of Guinness in town I believe (other than the Globe!)
The ales are a little on the cold side, but nonetheless well kept, lines are clean and bar is well stocked.
The prices are quite reasonable for a major tourist destination and hotel.
It's sometimes difficult to get served quickly when they are busy but they are generally pretty good.
They really have turned it around since taking over from the French couple that recently ran the place.
As for the comments about smokers standing outside, yes there are some that do, but the majority of them will quickly move out of the way when necessary.
Overall a great place.

The George and Pilgrim, Glastonbury
This is one of the busiest pubs in Glastonbury. The real ale is fantastic andthe food is generally good. Often have to wait a while to get served if they are busy and people are trying to check in to the hotel but if you're patient it is worth the wait.
Staff are generally neat and tidy and courteous. They sacked the rude barmaid finally!
Occasional bad customers are treated with a polite but firm hand.
They sometimes have music events and fortunately none of it is bloody karaoke!
I have been drinking here on and off for some years and consider it one of my locals.
