Ok pub, a little lacking in atmosphere but they do a nice local beer (Shere Drop I think). I haven't been in here with the bairn so can't comment on family friendliness.

I like this place. I've been there pre and post baby. Felt very comfortable bringing the wee one in and breast feeding whilst they were quiet during the day. I only wish it was a bit bigger!

My parents and I made this the apex of our walk on the Greensand Way today. Its always a nice place to stop for lunch. There is usually a fire going, they serve Adnams and the food is good traditional British fare (things like haggis, pies etc) - loads of it too. I also knew there would be enough room for my 6 month old to have a bit of a roll around if he wanted to.
I have read a few of the previous reviews. Clearly you can ask 5 different people for their opinions about a place and get 5 different answers. Each to their own, but I like this pub. I'm the sort of person who rates friendliness over a uniform interior, and prefers the independent and quirky to the chain. I don't mind if things don't match and I quite like the fact that it isn't all immaculate and shiny - it feels lived in.

The White Horse, Shere
Really like this pub, can't comment on the beer as was pregnant when we visited. The food was good though and the pub interior is lovely. On a winters evening they have an open fire going, very cosy.
