One of the only bars that seems to have any kind of atmosphere at the weekend in this area. Excellent bar staff, friendly and keen to recommend drinks.

The Frog and Forget-Me-Not, Clapham
Feels kind of dirty. Sticky tables and decor from the 70s (and not in a good way). Food pretty substandard. Randomly playing hardcore house music regardless of time/mood!
Beer ok.
Think you would already have to be pretty drunk before entering to enjoy an evening here.

Service hasn't really improved since the last review. It's hard to get a smile out of this lot, and they do seem a bit shy of serving people. Upstairs is nice for eating/chilling out, but have been chucked out of here when they decide they can't be bothered keeping it open.
Having said that, it's usually a pretty friendly crowd of drinkers, and the music is good for the mostpart.

Have had some excellent, and some rubbish nights here. Always seems to be a different crowd and different music. Women- it can get a bit letchy (I've been chased out of there on more than one occasion due to over friendly blokes)! But, it's not expensive and on the right night have found myself dancing away for hours...

Strange. Looks ok and nice back garden, off the road.
Very "local" went here for a quick drink last Friday night (about 6pm) before going out for dinner. Every head of the five or so people sat at the bar turned when we walked in. Music: ridiculously loud banging house music, given the time and the fact that there were about 8 people in the bar, eventually conversation became impossible, so we left.
Time before this, had some food which was surprisingly good. Drank Magners, so not sure about the draught beers. Although I seem to remember at least one of them was "off". Friendly staff.

The Clapham North, Clapham North
Variable. Avoid on a Friday/Saturday night unless pre-Infernos geezers are your thing!
Food can be ok, but have had poor service and luke warm food on one or two occasions. Thursday nights are pretty good- good music. Packed when matches are on. Seating outside, although right on the main road.
Nice G&T.

Good 'proper' pub- retains locals who have clearly been drinking there for years, and also welcomes newcomers. Good music, couple of pool tables. Good beer.
Quite a nice change from the average Clapham pub!

This used to be a great pub for a few drinks on a nice evening, loads of outside space. However, the last few times I have been here, it's really gone downhill. There seem to be a lot of new staff, and most of them seem oblivious to their true purpose- which is to serve drinks. On a Wednesday night a few weeks ago, people were waiting 20 minutes to be served by staff who couldn't seem to keep the drinks in the glasses, much less remember more than one drink in a round, and struggled to remember who they were actually serving at the bar. One guy seemed very good at serving his friends at the side of the bar though. They also had to eventually stop serving food at 8pm as they clearly couldn't cope. The only thing this place has going for it now is the outside seating.

I had a good experience at the Stonhouse on a Sunday afternoon with family. Sat in the terrace, served by a really friendly and efficient waitress, great bottle of wine, and really nice food. Would definitely visit again.

Inigo, Clapham
Absolutely rammed full of people seriously off their faces. Lingering presence of somewhat thuggish looking blokes dealing. Impossible to dance due to the sheer numbers of people, and the fact that most of them are struggling to stay on their feet. Music system pretty dodgy- speakers cracking and breaking and at one point a strong smell of burning as one of them died completely. Might be just me, but I felt this place had a slightly 'fighty' atmosphere, not helped by the queues at the bar/for the toilets/to get in/to get out/smokers packed round the door.
Choice of drinks seemed pretty mediocre, but I'm pretty sure much of the crowd wasn't using alcohol as their substance of choice that evening anyway.
