the ex-landlord mark ran a good boozer that was seperated from a decent restaurant, perfect for the area. Bluebeckers has sucessfully ruined this; the chap below hit the nail on the head "Ripped out the soul and character". The place is now cold, empty and expensive.
If you miss the 'real' white hart, mark the ex-landlord now owns the yew tree on reigate hill and has created a similar atmosphere there...

The Woolpack has had a bad reputation in the past but since the current landlady has been there the woolpack has consolidated its position as the only decent pub in the banstead/chipstead area! It is a friendly local with very high quality drinks, though not cheap, as well as very edible pub grub.
The local drinkers and bar staff are friendly and the place has a good atmosphere. I wouldnt recommend it as a place to take children but is perfect for a bite to eat or a good drinking session.

A fairly standard vintage inn, food is either boil in a bag or slapped onto a grill (isnt brake bros wonderful). Never the less the grub is generally edible as long as you know what to order.
They have a good range of ales and lagers, again all ok (when there is enough staff there to serve it). The interior is pleasant and authentic, though there is a distinct lack of atmosphere if you are looking to drink there.
In all the mint is a restaurant, the food and drink is ok but nothing special. Worth a look as the prices are very competitive.

Ye Olde Red Lion, Cheam
Great potential in this pub however the current owners are not doing the place justice. There is probably the rudist bar maid there I have ever come across; she's middle aged, scottish and will barely make eye contact, but in a strange way I find her amusing (you can say anything to her and she wont take offense!!)Very cheap, decent beer. Be very careful if you are over 6foot, you will bang your head!!!
