Recently been taken over by the same people who run the Marlborough Tavern and the Chequers more towards the centre of Bath. It's now gone quite gastro, and when I went on a sunny Tuesday evening about half the tables were reserved.
Food's excellent, if a little on the expensive side for a pub (cheapest is a burger for about 10), and the beer's nice, but again a bit pricey.
The view is stunning, and one of the big trees which used to obscure a lot of it has fallen down since I went before. Worth the trip to sit in the garden for sure, and lots of room for kids to run about.
Doesn't do a carvery any more, which I (and I'm sure others) miss, and loses it a mark.

Definitely not a drinkers' pub, but the food's very good. Mostly reserved tables unless you're outside or come in during the day. Beer's good too, but you might have to stand up.

The Old Crown, Bath
Just changed ownership, very friendly, good beers on, and there's a shove-ha'penny table too! Massive beer garden.
