Been to this pub a few times.. Went with a friend last week and to be honest had the worst beef sandwich in the world..So much gristle and chewy beef... I love this pub and the " feel " of it, but the food does let it down...

Having gone in this pub for many years... seen the complete desecration of all the lovely old fixtures and fittings... Continued to go in on our wanderings around the town when in company.. This has now turned into one of the biggest S**t holes I have ever seen... Foam party nights.. Wet tee shirt comps... Oh yuk.. Have these people no respect for themselves.. I hear that now it is dying a very quick death... Thank goodness, it's an embarrassing blot on a lovely building....

We have been here quite a lot for a sizzling steak... Yummy.. Lovely food and plenty of it.. Drinks are fairly expensive.. Heart attack in a glass if you get a large white wine !! Coke is almost as expensive...Usually pretty busy , so that's a reccomendation i think..

I believe this pub is under new management and is due for reopening in mid December... We can only wait and see if they can make a difference.. We have been in this pub on and off for many years.. It could be a great " old style pub" .. to be honest, the layout doesn't lend itself to anything else... However, i hear that the new management want to make it into more of an eating house... Can only wait and see...

Nice enough village pub. Lots of real ales. Food is varied and good... However.. Drinking there is very ... very expensive....

Used to go in this pub quite a few years ago. Was always welcoming and I often drank more than I should have there...Just wondered if Tony Mac still went in??
