Highly reccomended. Excellent beer and great local atmosphere

I would avoid this pub. Have used it for many years, mainly as a quiet bolthole or to meet freinds. Beer has always been excellent. Recently however I have noticed that children are allowed in and the pub has lost its atmosphere. As much as I have tried I have never managed to get a smile from the landlady and the landlord appears to be ex SAS and has posted some scary notices in the car park. Beware if you use the resturant next door or you may find your car clamped!
On the plus side there are still some pleasant chatty kiwi bar staff. Much better to walk a few more yards and enjoy the Trafalgar Pub at High Path which is freindly and won many awards from CAMRA.

The Black Lion, Hammersmith
Went into this pub with the family last night and ordered 2 pints of ordinary bitter ( Doom Bar) and a pint of shandy. I put 10 on the bar and confidently waited for some change. Confronted by a snotty look and asked for another 1 10. Felt really embarrissing as I had left my wallet outside. Go to the pub next door. Cheaper and a better view of the river. I suppose they are trying to keep riff raff like me away. Shame as the female staff were very nice and noticed my discomfort.
