The Cocoanut, Kingston Upon Thames

I went to this pub last night because i knew that 'Kai's Thai Food' had moved here from the Cricketers around the corner.
The thai family who used to do the food in the cricketers now run the whole pub including food.
This is a really nice pub and is more relaxed that most of the pubs closer to Kingston town centre. Usual lagers, fuller's ale on tap.

But the real selling point is the thai food which is amazing. 36 for a meal for two (and we were stuffed) plus a drink each.
Highly recommended.

The Railway Guard, Epsom

When i saw this pub from the outside i thought it would be a great place for a nice pint of ale.
Sadly not - it's in dire need of refurbishment and an injection of atmosphere.
Very much a 'locals' pub and you're made to feel that when you go in.

Walk 30 seconds down the road to the Barley Mow - it is better in every respect...

The Rising Sun, Epsom

This is a nice pub about 5 mins walk from Epsom town centre. It is a nice place to sit and have a real ale or glass of wine. Nice beer on tap such as Peroni.
Shame it is so expensive though - the booze was really pricey, and i've heard the food is as well.

Beer garden out back

The Barley Mow, Epsom

This is a great pub, tucked out of the way 5 mins walk from Epsom town centre.
Recently refurbished, it is now a very pleasant place to sink a pint of ale. They have a number of real ales on tap, and guest ales as well. Usual selection of wine as well if that is your thing.

There is also a very nice beer garden out the back - no noise of busy roads, you can really relax.

I've not tried the food, but i've heard it not outstanding, but acceptable.

The Cricketers, Kingston Upon Thames

This pub is located close to Kinston town centre on Fairfield Park. Being a little bit out of the centre you get a more 'local' ground of people but the atmosphere is good.
They have big screen TV's for the sport, a small beer garden out back and benchs out front. They do the usual selection of reasonable wines and real ale or lager.
Upstairs there is live entertainment (comedy, music) but i've never been up there.

By far and away the best thing about this pub is the food. They have a thai chef and the food is awesome. I never used to like thai that much but i know regularly go here. Very reasonable prices as well. If nothing else, just go for the food.
