I'm surprised at your experience with the beer. I've always found it to be in perfectly good condition, and I'm glad of the presence of Tim Taylor's. Your complaint about the age of the staff strikes me as totally preposterous, however. I can't for the life of me imagine how there's any legitimacy in complaining about being served by twenty-somethings. The use of the word 'bint' suggests a bigotry I don't want to delve into, anyway. And I'd like to add that if indeed you did stand at the bar and complain solidly at them for the entire time, then I don't think the staff is under any obligation to put up with that, and are well within their rights to tell you where to go.
My experience: good beer, great decor, good but not amazing food, and just a bit too pricy. But I do, and shall, return.

It's very pleasant, and the staff are really nice. I've chatted away for quite a while with one of them, and would confess to having been reasonably enchanted. Leather armchairs are always a plus, and the beer is very good. Prices on the high side, though. Haven't eaten here.
wsjm: I don't feel at all that fatpav gives the impression of being associated with the Crowns, but is responding to some pretty over-broad criticism, from someone clearly disgruntled. I will admit to finding his post combative, though, and am disappointed in both users for holding an argument on the board. Yes, I'm afraid you're both guilty of that. However, I find your post, wcjm, offensive, and borderline illiterate. You say nothing of substance, and use crude insults. You are in no position to pass comment on anybody else's postings.

Like it generally, in spite of it being a bit bike unfriendly. Was refused permission to bring a bike inside last year, and it was nicked :( Staff very helpful though, and got straight on the blower to the police and the bicycle patrol.
Anyway. Good food. Good drink. Good atmosphere. Good beer garden. Too expensive.

Really do like this place. Not overly excited about the decour, but it's nice to have a beer garden. Great bar staff. Love the Tribute ale, and having not intended to eat there, liked the look of the menu so much the other day that I did, and had some teriffic liver and bacon, which was a really nice surprise. Good place. If they spruced up the decour a bit, I'd give it more than 8.

Sorry, LemonGrass, I wasn't clear. I'd actually hoped to take the bike through to the beer garden. Even so, it is perfectly reasonable for them to refuse, but somewhat unnecessary, and the consequences were a shame.
However, the bike had a crap lock, and would have vanished eventually, anyhow. :-/
