The Pear Tree, Penwortham

I tried to get a meal here and although ordered in plenty of time was told I could not. When i asked why, the surly manager or owner told me they had to many orders already. I was less than impressed. When I queried this action with the surly manager, he was less than helpful. I will not be visiting again.

New tenant, John Mac and his manager Sarah have really turned this wreck of a pub round. I was really impressed with their opening on saturday. The food was excellent and the beer completely clear, new pipes? I liked the new layout, opening it up completely. A rest area with sumptious leather seating in front of one of the two open fires. tables to sit and enjoy the excellent food at reasonable prices. I can recommend the fish and cumberland sausage, delicious.If all fullers pubs are like this, I will make a point of visiting them on my visits to the Smoke.
