The Prince Edward, Holloway

What can I say - as as foreigner from South Africa in the 90's I was welcomed with open arms into the Prince Edward Family. I'm not into posey places and The Edward is definitely a pub where one can just be, without any airs and graces. A real place to relax, unwind and enjoy a few games of pool - where at the time the gals were better than the guys. The owner at the time was Avril and her hubby and the bar staff Sean,Brian & Maureen. Just want to thank them for my many hangovers - never got to do that before! Also remember the greats of the pub - Sully, Kieran, Wally & Alison, Con...the list goes on...still miss you guys intensely and hope that we may be in contact again one day. I am so glad that I ventured off the street into The Edward as I would never have known one of the best pubs in the world - well to me anyway. as Arnie says....I will be back - gotta put a few more coins into the jukebox you know. xxx

O'Neills, Blackheath

This used to be a flagship Pub for O'Neills only a few years ago......now its a disgrace. Any customers who used to drink there have gone and now its like a Millwall/National Front meeting place. Close it!

Foxley Hatch, Purley

Just came back from travelling and was disapointed to see a Weatherspoon in Purley. These plastic , same as same as Pubs are useless.

The Rectory, Purley

I have just returned from travelling for three years. When I left Purley it was a dying place socially and now Thank God we at last have a Pub and a damn good Pub at that. I met friends here on the May Bank holiday weekend and we kept coming back over the weekend to meet more.

The Food we ate was quite good but then most Pub food is today but the drink and table service was superb. Plenty of staff, lots of atmosphere and hunky guys....Wow what a change in Purley. This is a good Pub.
