Nothing adverse noted in my only visit to this pub, but it's nothing special and I was irked that a pint cost 2.95.
Given that a much cheaper drink can be had in numerous places that are of equal or better standard in other respects, I'll be giving the 'Bishop's Finger' a miss in future.

Great virtues is that prices are low (there is also a good selection of beers and the toilets well maintained), but that's about it.
The staff seem to be selected for being incredibly slow and sullen. They might as well have 'I am a sad loser, I hate the world and everyone in it' on their tee-shirts.
To be avoided unless:
a) you are very hard up at present
b) you suffer from agoraphobia and enjoy an airless atmosphere permeated by tabacco smoke - the 'air conditioning' just spreads it more efficiently round the pub
c) you are a psychologist/sociologist researching poor motivation among bar staff

Good management (a huge improvement on the old Drummond's), very pleasant bar staff. I avoid on Friday and Saturday nights as it gets so crowded, but a favourite spot to meet friends or just have a peaceful pint during the rest of the week.

Superficially atttractive - dark bar, nice garden well away from the traffic, three good restaurants (La Racasse (French) and Bibioteca and Pierluighi (Italian) in very close promximity.
Alas, over-priced and, as other people rightly say, a hang-out for gangsters. They're not actually going to beat you up, of course, but project enough hostility towards 'strangers' to make a visit to this place a less than carefree experience.

Have to amend my comments (very)slightly. Went in during cloudburst just to avoid the storm and was actually served by a well-mannered and efficient woman. Perhaps things had taken a turn for the better.
Hopes dashed though when barman Lurch appeared from the back a little later wearing his trademark frown.
