Worst pub in Blackheath. Awful staff who chat all the time and only serve the person directly in front of them. They genuinely look annoyed if you disturb their conversation in the hope of purchasing a drink. Poorly trained and obviously no cutomer service skills. I live round the corner and will never go back.

We went here this sunday and had a fantastic sunday lunch. Things must have changed since March (See earlier review) as the food was fantastic and came in huge portions. We had prawns with lemon mayonnaise followed by fantastic roast beef and half roast chicken. Dessert was Eton mess and chocolate bread and butter pudding.
Service was friendly and very efficient. The pub is beautiful and we will return very soon.

Amazing interior designed during the arts and crafts movement. Lots of images of boisterous and slightly lurid monks! Gets very busy but deserves it. Back room is a delight!
Love it!

Good for the footy though the manager has been known to sleep in on a sunday and leading to numerous people heading to Greenwich to find an alternative venue.

Lovely place. However there is one barperson their who is without a doubt the worst I have ever met. When she is on on her own I simply turn round and go to another place in the area. The locals know who I mean.!!

Much improved place since the new landlady took over just over a year ago. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Its a lovely place to sit on a summers evening. Oh and dont you just love a pub dog. Bolly (short for Bollinger) is a labrador regular, always in the way slumped at the bar, or any table with food on it. Oh and they open on Christmas Day.
