Nice beer garden, decent service, OK selection of real beer, but the prices are far too high for their own good (pub commonly known as the 'Scrote and Badge' in my school days!

Haven't been here since Summer 06, but then it was the same charming place with young's ordinary (my favourite) that I had been going to (and drinking in) since I was at Sixth form at the local school (great for a pint in your lunch break! Classy pub, with friendly staff and great times, not to mention the fabulous beyond fabulous beer garden!

I played here a couple of times with a band, the beer is great, the staff really friendly, and just a nice quirky little place. Amazing atmosphere, the first gig I played there were so many people they all spilled out on to the street, and everyone was chatting to each other! Be wary about the owner, has a nasty habit of forgetting to pay bands?!

Amazing selection of beer, better in the summer of you are a smoker, so you can sit outside, but the heated outdoor area in the winter is fabulous, but no good under the 2007 legislation!

No beer, only lager, absolute rubbish, personally am not too keen on the music, but each to his own!

Rubbish, you WILL not get served in under 45 minutes unless you are a buxom blonde with a very low cut top, of which I am not! During the week, the lower level has good selection of real beer (none of this lager crap!) avoid if you want decent service on a friday night

Expensive and useless staff, unfortunately it is the local 'bar' to where I work, even on slow evenings like Sundays there are never enough staff to cope with the amount of punters and it always takes far too long to be served, not good.

Have been a regular for several years, going every thursday for the Jam nights with my dad since I was about 15, for the first time in the 4 years I have been going has the issue of ID been raised, we were all there watching the music, although I am 19 some of my friend's siblings weren't and were asked to leave, despite the fact they were not drinking, and definitely not making any sort of undue noise or disturbance. The manager was very rude and did not seem to realise the this pub for a long time has always been reknowned as a family pub. It took the guy who runs the Jam session to sort it all out, very upset!

I think that the Jam nights are always good fun, granted it can be hit and miss, but if you socialise at the same time you are likely to meet some of the most fun, interesting and knowledgable people. Just because a person isn't too hot as a musician, their knowledge and passion of the music that they play is far superior than most people I know

The Eagle Ale House, Clapham
I can honestly say, just about the BEST pub I have ever been to, the selection of rotating real ales is outstanding. One major quibble is that it's so far away from my flat in Paris!!! Only found out about this place properly when I moved away from the UK, but a regular stop over on my visits to family in London. The staff are fabulously friendly, and wonderfully informative, I'm no expert on ale, but have always been more than satisfied by the landlord's suggestions when I go. I would whole-heartedly reccomend to anyone that believes in a real pub, a real find and sincerely regret not being able to go more often.
