The Tawny Owl, Milton Keynes

They say they do food until 9pm on the website for the pub, so they watched me and my family walk in, choose food, select a table, even cleared all the rubbish of it for us, then ignored us at the bar for 10 minutes until it turned 8pm, then informed me and the other 4 people stood at the bar with menus that they stopped food at 8 and the 'chef' would not work on. The beer is ok, but they did a refurb recently, it looks like they just put up a few signs, and they did nothing to get rid of the chav/scummy element that has always drank in there. Nothing has changed in the pub. Service has not improved.
I'll stick to the city for food decent beer now thanks.
went on the company website to complain and guess what, they don't take complaints over the website, no surprise there then.

Caldecotte Arms, Milton Keynes

Service - poor, Clientele - poor (those barred from the town), Decor - poor, food - poor. Environment - lovely.
if you can put up with all it's bad points the lake is lovely all year round, then you can go in the caldecotte arms and be dispointed, but at least you know what you have signed up for

Really quiet normally and only have drinks offers on when the football is on - is good for a quiet game of pool with the other half when the kids are in school

This pub is always busy with a selection of ales on, don't understand why it is not in the good beer guide? Food always great, handy when you have just been to the cinema. Good wines as well, chilled - not like most of the other pubs in this town which seem to keep offering me chardonnay...
