Cheap drinks, cheep food, decent place. Gets busy as the evening goes on, atmosphere quiet and relaxed earlier on, then music goes up and lights go down. Good night out.

Big pub, good atmosphere, darts, pool tables, jukebox. Great pub quiz every Sunday. Drinks a bit expensive, but certainly not the most expensive in the area.

The Big Chill Bar, Shoreditch

Expensive but reasonable. We pop in for lunch reasonably often as it's round the corner from the office. The burgers are very good, if somewhat expensive (but there's not that much other than burgers on the menu, so they ought to be).

Beer expensive, but good selection. Gets very popular at night.

Williams Wine and Ale House, Hoxton

Great food, friendly staff, good beer selection, clean decent pub. We often eat lunch here, and it's always good food, well cooked and brought out quickly. Does suffer a little from infestation with suits, but that's more down to its location. Atmosphere is always comfortable.
