The Vine Inn, Manchester

Ok but characterless pub. Dull choice of ales. It's clean and comfortable, but not really worth a vsit.

The City Arms, Manchester

The City Arms was a near perfect boozer in recent years. Seems to have lost its mojo. Decent beer choice, but has become a dispiriting venue. We live in hope.

The Briton's Protection Hotel, Castlefield

True, it looks the part. But it's been all fur coat and no knickers for years. Have never had a decent pint in this place.

£4.30 for 2 halves of cooking bitter. A chipped glass. Depressed looking bar staff.
Avoid at all costs.
