Ye Olde Swan Inn, Thames Ditton
Nice place for a beer by the river but have to say the Albany is better. Grotty food though - which is a real shame

I feel it appropriate to update my 'rant' as so placed by brittp.
I think I should clear a few things up - having spoken to the owners of the Albany who were very understanding and apologetic regarding our visit and we are satisfied with the outcome.
Regarding brittp's comments:
Yes there were different breads - all solid.
The toilet urinals were closed, blocked and flooding the floor, thus they were disgusting, not the fact that there were breasts on show.
And finally - it is obvious brittp judges a restaurant on how good looking the staff are. Me personally look for good service and good food.

I took my girlfriend for a meal at the Albany last night as it has a good reputation following the refurb.
In short we had probably the worst meal we have ever had.
The staff are rude, obnoxious and dont seem to understand service with a smile.
They brought round bread and dips - which were stale.
We had antipasti - once again the bread was stale.
The toilets are disgusting.
The food is nice and well prepared (what wasn't stale) but overpriced.
And to top it off what seemed like the manager was clock watching and trying to turn people around as quick as possible. I actually heard him say "when a table has finished eating just get rid of them"
I wouldnt suggest anyone goes to this pub, I certainly wont again.

Severe lack of atmosphere here, its only saving grace is sitting by the river.
Food is OK at best and very overpriced for what it is.
Staff seem to come across with a 'can't be bothered attitude' all the time which is quite sad.
Worth it for a beer by the river but thats about it - better than the swan but not by much.
