The Briton's Protection Hotel, Castlefield
Been so good for so many years, it just goes to show what can be done when you keep it simple and just be consistent. Check out the highly polished copper pipes in the Gent's Loo. Just like everything else in the pub, first class

Good food and all home made. Beer is always top notch with a good variety supporting the standard Robinson's offerings.
Landlord will take the p**s out of you on demand!
The interior is stunning and (I think) on CAMRA's protected interior listing (Rightly so)
No smoking at lunchtiime in the dining half of the pub.

The Peveril Of The Peak, Castlefield
Th etiles may put off the casula drinker, leaving more room for us. Classic 3 room interior with a central bar. Ales are varied and generally spot on. Occasional music and pies. Worth a trip.
