The Salmon and Ball, Bethnal Green

Another one of those 'passing through' pubs that only stays open because it's close enough to the tube that people will wait for their mates there. Not welcoming at all, bar staff are rude, full of loud geezers, tables are stickier than a post-it note, and the beer was flat.

Try somewhere else, really!

The Paper Moon, Southwark

Place has a bit of 'plastic decor' happening and doesn't feel very welcoming. That is until you meet the staff. They are lovely friendly people and will always chat with you. Beer is great, but the food needs a bit of work.

The Prince Regent, South Kensington

Other than the cheap cocktails there isn't much to write home about Teh Black Widow. The staff fit the dismal atmosphere, surly and slow, and the clientel is generally pretty sad. It's worth a look though as the decor is quite funny. Wouldn't recommend it for a night out, but a quick cocktail to start the night wouldn't hurt too much.

The John Snow, Soho

Brilliant old pub with a nice selection of cheap booze. The staff are very friendly and the service is generally very good. Does get a bit packed though, and lately there seems to be a massive lack of music. Other than that, a lovely place for a few jars.

The Chandos, Trafalgar Square

Excellent pub, cheap beer, friendly bar staff, and excellent location for meetin up with mates. Usually very busy though, so you have to be early unless you want to stand around with the masses of people.
