I think the comments about this place say it all, really!
I love it when pubs full of filthy chavsters have a 'no trainers' policy. Considering how ofter the police are called to break up fights perhaps they'd be better lifting that particular policy and starting a 'no tw@ts' policy.
I guess they'd run out of customers pretty quicky, and it keeps to idiot element out of all the decent boozers in town (of which there are LOADS!!!)
One last thing, what is it with this - pay some dick a quid to give you a paper towel every time you go for a slash??!?!?!?!?

Advice. If you are over 21 years of age - avoid this pub. Nothing against school leavers, but their criteria for a night out differs very much to the rest of us. Don't get me wrong, if was 18 I'd be as happy as a pig in poo in this pub.
God, I'm getting old!

A classic case of a wasted opportunity. This pub is in quite possibly the nicest part of town, in a gorgeous old building in the shadow of the catherdral.
Instead what you get is a dirty and generic waste of space. When I moved here I was really looking forward to a pint in one of the country's oldest pubs - it was such a disappointment - obviously aimed at getting a quick buck off the tourists for no effort. Considering the quality of the pubs on Fishpool St, just round the corner, you'd be mad to drink here.

Very much improved since it's refurb - we've been a couple of times on Tuesdays when they have a jazz and tapas night - it is in serious danger of becoming a bit of a fixture in diaries!!
They serve a good selection of interesting beers - focusing more on european types rather than real ale - which is fair enough as there are plenty of real ale pubs in town! The wine selection is varied and good value. The staff are friendly and helpful
