The Olde Smack Inn, Leigh On Sea
Visited on a Saturday night. Insufficent staff resulted in me leaving without buying a drink. Poor.

Returned to this pub to find it now has music and was full of under 30's. Still a good selection of beer but too noisy to have a decent conversation. Suspect that the owners are happy as far more busy than last time I visited.

A pleasant pub with a reasonable selection of beer. Staff were friendly too. The interior was a little bland but comfortable.

A reasonable selection of bitters in pleasant surroundings. Good & friendly bar staff too.

Didn't know this pub existed until I saw it on here, but have to say I wish I hadn't have seen it. A poor pint of Adnams in mediocre surrroundings. Only saving graced is that there were some good looking women in there!

A great pub with an excellent choice of bitter. The landlord is very friendly too. Definately worth a visit.

I haven't been in this pub for a few and fortunately it doesn't seem to change much. Plenty of rustic charm and a fine selection of beers. Definately worth a visit.

The King and Queen, East Malling
First visit to this fairly small pub and thought it was excellent. Nice cosy surroundings & 5 draft bitters to choose from. Food seemed popular with many eating. Surprised there wasn't more people in there on a Saturday night.

The John Barleycorn, Threshers Bush
Visited this pub on a late Sunday afternoon and was extremely popular with diners. A nice looking pub that is a bit off the beaten track. The bar I was in had low ceiling and an open fire and was cozy. The rest of the pub looked to me like it had been added more recently with a higher ceiling and not quite so much charm but still nice. Staff were friendly and the service was good. A limited choice of bitters with GK IPA & Speckled Hen being the only choices of hand pulled beers.

An excellent Fullers pub in the heart of the city. Visited at 6 on a Thursday evening and was very busy but plenty of staff so service was very good. The Chiswick was good. Prices on the high side but probably the norm for the city. Worth a visit.

The Railway Tavern, Prittlewell
Went in here for the first time in years. The staff were okay but this is probably only positive comment I can make about this pub. GK IPA was the only pumped bitter. Ok if you like lager!

This pub used to be one of my favourites but unfortunately a change of landlord has seen this place slide. It used to have a good atmosphere and choice of beers.
I stopped going here a while ago but decided to give it another chance. This was a mistake. It is now dead and never seems to have enough staff even for modest numbers of customers. Although there was a couple of decent bitters the second one I had was off. Told who I believed was the landlord and he was far from gracious and although he replaced it just threw y change on the bar!
Will never go in this pub again while he is the landlord. Shame as this is place used to be great place to go for a pint.

You get a reasonable selection of beer here at an average price. The Directors was good. The trouble here was that even though it was quite quiet for a Friday the service was very slow (took the order quickly then disappeared for ages before getting the pint, this happened twice so not changing barrel).
The interior is dated and they had karoke on, which is never a good sign for me, and not a great atmosphere, but have been in here recently on a Saturday lunch time and found it okay.

Excellent selection of beer and plenty of staff for the post 5pm rush before the commute home. Fortunately the weather was good so could stand outside otherwise the downstairs could be quite crowded, I would imagine, though there was hardly anyone upstairs.

First time I had been in the Elms for about 18 months and I quite like it. Good selection of beer at cheap prices. It was a warm evening so sat outside in a garden that in is on a main road, which is a bit of draw back.
Then moved inside, not crowded for a Saturday and was served immediately each time. Surrounding are fine, so will probably return again soon.

No choice if you like bitter. Plenty of seating and good if you want to watch sport on TV. Chain aimed at the young. Pricey.

The Trading Rooms, Westcliff on Sea
Don't think this pub is as good as it used to be. Although a few real ales the quality is variable. Pleasant surrounding though.

The beer here is good with a reasonable selection. Reasonable prices. Comfortable surroundings.

This pub is at the back of a fish & chip shop! Recently opened, it has a good selection of beers, though a little pricey & sells lovely fish & chips!
Definately worth a visit.

This is probably the last proper pub in the Broadway area, which is one of the few positives about this place.
The selection of beer isn't great and doesn't taste that good.
The surroundings could be better and some of the clientele leave a bit to be desired but atmosphere on Saturday night isn't too bad, if you can avoid some of the scarier customers, and even though they had a karaoke it wasn't too loud and, because it is quite a big pub, you can find somewhere to chat.

The Crooked Billet, Leigh on Sea
As has been said before this is possibly the best pub in Leigh. Situated in the old town it is full of charm and feels like a real pub. It has two smallish bars and in the summer it can get packed.
Good selection of beer and friendly bar staff. Also has a reasonable selection of food.
The only thing I have problem with is that some of the window seats aren't that comfortable if you are sitting there for a longish time. Though in saying that they are probably original and part of the charm of the place!

This pub has a good selection of beer and the surroundings are a little rustic but not without some charm. Food was good and plentiful. This is the sort of pub I'd go to with my mates but if out with our wives would probably go to the General!

The General's Arms, Little Baddow
Visited this pub a few weeks before Christmas. Had a reasonable selection of beer and the surroundings were comfortable.

Visited this pub for the first time last night. The surroundings are good with a reasonable selection of beer. The bar staff were efficient if not overly friendly. The drinking area wasn't particularly crowded but quite a few people in the restaurant area.
I would go back if in the area again.

14 of us went to this pub last Saturday for pre & post match drinkings with a visit to Stamford Bridge in between. This pub is just off of Earls Court Road & about 1 mile from the ground.
Good range of beer, not too crowded on either occassion, (though we had left by 7pm) comfortable surroundings and bar staff were pleasant. Good choice of food too. Definately would go back if in the area.

The Ship, Leigh On Sea
Visited on a Saturday evening and it was empty. Had Karaoke in one bar which didn't have the punters flooding in. Staff were friendly but only cask beer was Adnams, which was passable. Decor could do with updating.
