Brannigans is painfully bad. Tacky, dull music supported by unsophisticated clientele that do nothing to add to its already boring ambience. This location purely appeals to the mainstream, and does nothing for those who enjoy quality and style. In three words; uninspiring, drab & average.

'The Slug and Lettuce' combines high-quality food with a relaxed drinking area. I have visited the Reading location many times, and have always been impressed with the overall level of service and quality of the food and drink. As a confessed Martini lover, the only negative point for me is that they are unfortunately unable to make Martini cocktails, but this really doesn't matter overall. It's a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere that attracts friendly and discerning clientele.

Bar 38 is one of the few chain bars that retain an element of style. I've visited the Reading establishment on two occasions now, and must confess that I have been disappointed with it overall. Firstly, I find it to be mostly overcrowded (with plenty of 'unselective' visitors from a rather shoddy student nightclub located next door) and the upstairs to be rarely open. This is by no means a poor location, but I personally favour the Maidenhead Bar38 over this.

I had the pleasure of visiting this bar (among others) during a recent two-day trip to Nottingham with a friend, and was certainly not disappointed! The bar combines a discerning atmosphere with high-quality music and a good selection of clientele. One of the finest bars I've seen in Nottingham so far. If you enjoy stylish establishments then this is simply a 'must'!

What a fantastically refreshing bar! Nottingham P&P is a former church that still retains the original and unique architecture. I enjoyed one of the best Martini cocktails I've ever had, complimented by superb decor. Simply flawless.

Oh, this is just hideous! By the far the most downmarket and unmemorable bar (in Reading) that Ive had the misfortune to visit. The music is uncharacteristic pap, and most of the teenage unsophisticated occupants do nothing do boost the ambience of this lacking and unoriginal establishment.

Distinctly average and just what one would expect from a bar in Reading. Uninspiring music and poor clientele make this a definite 'one to avoid'. The barman didn't even know what a French Martini was, despite the bar having a cocktail menu. Rather downmarket and mainstream, but by no means is this the worst bar in Reading.

Havana, Windsor
I visited Havana recently with a friend and found it to be one of the better, higher quality bars in Windsor. Havana offers a stylish atmosphere with a wide selection of music and professional clientele. Undoubtedly worth spending an evening there.
