just your average little pub. nice friendly service. if you are not local don't look for a big red carpet welcome but they aren't unfriendly. nice place for the kids to play in the fenced playground.

great pub. i live just down the street and have been treated as an old friend from the first time i walked in the door. the landlord and his family are all very nice and friendly. some reviews put the food as pricey but it is worth it. not your average pub grub. we are talking gourmet. the portions are huge so watch how much you order. i love this place.

this is a nice old pub but we did not notice any of the friendly welcomes that others have mentioned (maybe they don't like yanks). beautiful view from the beer garden.

it doesn't get any better than this! the landlord, robert, is a whoot! he is always "sharpened" up and ready for some witty banter. stop in at a time when the food rush is not heavy and you will get a true taste of this extraordinary character.
the decor of the pub could not be more interesting. the food is incredible. don't miss this one. if you plan on dining book ahead as they are busy during lunch and dinner all week.

Cafe Belge, Canterbury
this is definitely not a pub. but they have a great selection of belgain beers. i have sampled as least 20 different to date. as part of thier reward program, when i get to fifty i get two free dinners. cant beat that. i was going to try them all anyway!
this is definitely my favorite place to eat in canterbury. the service there is the best i have found in england. they are very friendly and attentive. tow big thumbs up from this transplanted american.
