how anyone can call this food good value for money is beyond me. it costs on average around a quid to produce put a meal on a plate in wetherspoons as someone who used to work in a wetherspoons kitchen. not only does that mean that you are paying at least a 250% mark up in most cases, but the food is very poor quality, all microwaveable (except for obvious thing like chips). hardly value when you think about it.

full of pikeys and old folks. you could call it god's waiting room really. the onyl reason we used to go there was because we were all 14 and it was the only place we could get served! dont even bother is my advice.

not a massive fan of this pub, possibly due to loyalties to the "Earls" next door as a long time regular and former chef there. i find the druids too typical of a brewery affiliated pub, and often find too many hippie/grunger types with long unwashed hair in their for my liking. my advice, go next door to earls for a good pint in a proper drinkers boozer. if you stay in the druids, mind the leaky ceiling, itl get you sooner or later!!

as regards to the staff, dave has had a crackdown about standing around chatting, and plenty of heads have rolled recently! although back at uni now, even as the chef over summer 2007 i was "reminded" a few times that i had stuff to do!

earls used to have a bit of a reputation. this was because previous landlords were pretty much just wasters. the current landlord, Dave Greenslade, & his mrs Clare are doing a good job with the pub. live music at least 3 nights a week, food every day, good beer, (contrary to other opinions in this thread) dave looks after his lines!

Fishermans Arms, Maidstone
never been in here, but it is very near to the best indian restaurant in maidstone, the shamrat. by its sheer proximity to this restaurant i hereby rate this pub as a winner!
