Good beer, nice food. Sit by the canal in the sunshine and watch the narrowboats going through the lock. Great way to while away the time!

I find it difficult to take the negative comments below seriously! I visit Nottingham regularly and always head for The Poacher. Beer always excellent, staff always competent and friendly.

Smashing, proper pub. Always four ales on and always in tip-top condition. Often a porter or stout for those who like the dark! Friendly couple run it, friendly punters use it. Lots of village activities, walking trips etc. Wish I didn't have to drive there!!

Our favourite place on earth. I don't believe in heaven but if it existed it would be here! Sit outside in the sun during the day and watch the world go by - fantastic! Sit in the bar in the evening - even fantasticer!

Brigantes Bar and Brasserie, York
Love it! Beer in good nick. No smoking. Not tried the food yet but heard good reports. Not yer typical Micklegate pub thank goodness!
