Typical Marstons pub, serving Jennings and Marston ales. I'm sorry to say nothing very exciting.

Pretty central pub not far from Shambles, cosy, country feel, with stained wood floors, a large wooden bar and pictures of old York on the walls. One of the best selections of real ale in the city. Beer tried was OK, and Food was usual pub menu and served quickly. No complaints. TVs showing sport events means the place can get very busy and a bit noisy.

Pleasant pub but perhaps not exceptional. I can imagine the beer garden really would be a stand-out attraction - grassy, fairly large, and probably a great place to sit on a sunny day. Inside, the pub is pleasant enough, good service, great landlord, decent beer. Worth travelling up the hill from town.

Tap and Spile, Framwellgate Moor
The pub has two front bars and a large back room. Its been a local CAMRA award winner. Found a varied selection of ales from near and far, with eight constantly changing handpumps, seemingly well kept. Very welcoming atmosphere, with friendly bar staff.

Visiting another Hotel and reviewing it today, remindeed me of my visit to The Feathers. Just checking the posts, good to see others find this bar good. Don't be put off by the "Hotel" tag ( or comments about posts made), as far as Im concerned its well worth a visit.

Quite trendy. 5 ale, all OK. Not the best place especially for a hotel. Not great for a quiter pint, but horses for horses.

Great staff, good beer, interesting location. More local beers needed but good. Well worth a visit.

Not a great experience. Wouldn't bother with such good competition!

How did this pub get the Cask Marque? The beer was terrible. Has a pint of Boiling Well that was warm, cloudy and tasted leggy. Sorry, but not a great experience.

Called in during the Ludlow Food Festival weekend. Very busy, but received good service and the beer was excellent. Taking part in the Festival Ale Trail it was by far the best beer sampled. Hope to come back to Ludlow and The Feathers at a quieter time.

The Snickleway Inn, York
Nice pub, with lots of history, dating back to the 1600's. Supposed to be very haunted, but don't let that put you off! Good ales served, including Roosters, Cask John Smiths. Didn't eat, but the menu looks interesting.
