This pub is faultless. They do cracking food that is freshly cooked, very reasonably priced and arrives within minutes of ordering. They've also got fresh apple & orange juice behind the bar. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our group of 21 were afforded very good service.

The Botley Hill Farmhouse, Warlingham
As already noted, the setting is superb. Whilst I agree that the food is expensive, it was pretty decent on the day I visited. Fast service and plenty of bodies behind the bar. There was a live band playing in the beer garden. No need to drive there - I went by bicycle!!

The landloard of this pub is an idiot! It's a country pub in the centre of a pretty village but he took exception at 20 sensible adult cyclists descending on a Bank Holiday Monday without "prior arrangement", even though it wasn't that busy. After serving about 15 of us he turned into Basil Fawlty and took all the menus away saying that he didn't serve food any more!!! He refused to listen to reason and it turned out that he had only booked one person to work in the kitchen, despite it being Bank Holiday. Have no idea what the food or drink is like because I was one of the ones he turned away. The nearby Botley Hill Farmhouse welcomed us with open arms and their food was top notch!

Looks like a country pub from the outside and is in the heart of a pretty village but is actually a bit of a smoky 'locals' pub judging by the punters on the day we visited. Had to sit outside for food and our clothes stank of smoke from just ordering at the bar. Food was ok though

The large no-smoking area was virtually empty when we popped in for food on New Year's Day. Service was swift and food came out pretty quick. Lots of locals propping up the smoky front bar area

The Mint, Banstead
I was a bit worried that this pub might have gone downhill after reading the two comments below but based on my recent visit, the allegations are unfounded. Food is still excellent and arrives very quickly. It is not boil in the bag, this is proper fresh food that is well received.
Nice summer drinks menu with an innovative range of soft drinks.
