Great pub, without a shadow of a doubt the best kept beer in Dorking, friendly bar staff and a nice high ceiling reminiscent of a London pub. The clientle are a friendly mix of old codgers and young... er... codgers. Some imaginative theme nights (Scalextrics, Onion growing competition, mini beer fest etc), but also the sort of place you can drop into any time of the day for an unassuming pint, well not in the morning I guess, but any other time. Go here.

This establishment currently has a rather irritating new policy of only serving you a beer at your table. The bar still stands there, warm, brightly lit and inviting, but prop yourself there for more than a second and you will be pleasantly directed to a table from whence, you are optimistically advised, you may order your drinks. To the uninitiated it all sounds rather European, but unlike in the Mediterranean, no swarthy waiter will pounce on you immediately and magically, then produce frosted glasses of cold beer, but oh no... I waited seven miserable minutes before the table next to me got up to see if they could FIND a member of staff to take their order! I decided to drive into the town cos it was a darned sight quicker. A lovely pub if you are elderly and infirm, have lots of free time and can't drink very much, very fast... otherwise drive on!

The Cricketers, Dorking
Consistently great pub. Ale is exceptionally well kept in a decent cellar and the swift turnover of beer means a quality pint every time. Locals are a friendly bunch and the bar staff are very attentive. The landlord is very in evidence and has a good number of events throughout the year, with seasonal ale festivals, regular Scalextric tournaments and a movie night every other Monday. They stock the usual Fullers
beers as well as the premium key keg stuff, but there are usually two guest ales on draft at any time. Well worth a visit!
