The Antelope will always be The Antelope and quite right too, I like the place but there used to be a cosy little pub around the corner from here called The Lowends Arms. What happened it? I went looking for it on a recent visit to the area and it seems to have vanished. Hopefully I took a wrong turn but I don't think so. Can someone please enlighten me, Has it really been transformed into a private house?

The Moon Under Water, Colindale
Dan, For ale nearby try the Chandos in Colindale Avenue. Its about a 5 minute walk from here on the way to the Tube Station. Or The Red Lion, 5 minutes in the other direction. Although I see its been almost a year since your post so you've probably found somewhere by now or died of thirst.

This pub stinks. Tip - Drink Bottled Beer, Wine or Spirits just like the owner and his brother were when I visited the place. They know well enough not to drink the draught beer in this dive.
The food ain't up to much either. Out of the freezer into the microwave and onto the plate. Pure muck. Most of the clientele and the manager seemed to spend most of their time between here and the betting shop down the road. The staff are OK but you get the impression they would rather be someplace else. Who can blame them ? Avoid.

St Stephens Tavern, Westminster
How long has this pub been here ? I used to live in London and thought I knew the Westminster area inside out. But I never heard of this place.

A pub in this area will always attract cappucino seeking tourists.
But the beer is fine and staff are spot on. The cartoons on the walls of politicians past add as sense of location to the place being just round the corner from the Commons and across the road from Downing St. Worth a visit.
