The Ostler, Uxbridge

Quite a nice place, though it is more expensive to drink in here compared to the other pubs! It is always very quiet when I have been in, so I only really go in here now when my boyfriend and I fancy a quiet drink... They have the disco lights going sometimes and a DJ, and create a mini dance floor in the pub. 6/10

Golden Cross Heathrow, Colnbrook

There is nothing very wrong with this pub, but there wasn't anything that would make me return for a second visit.

Good things about the pub: The staff were friendly and there were other customers in the pub which was reassuring. The beer garden was really spacious and green. They had quite a few picnic benches out there, which could make it nice for the summer.

Bad things about the pub: The location primarily is the worst thing about the pub. It feels in the middle of no-where as it is by several industrial estates. This feeling is only disrupted by the sounds of passing traffic as it is near a busy roundabout.

The Malt Shovel, Uxbridge

Lovely little place, especially in the summer when you can walk by the canal after dinner. There is a nice and friendly atmosphere in here and I have been back several times to have dinner with the family.

The bar area was quite small. When I was in there last, all the seats inside were taken so we just went straight to our table. Slightly disappointing, that there wasn't space to have a drink before the meal.

However the food is nice - Quite a variety on the menu; from beef burgers and sausages to a few pasta dishes. I thought the portions were quite generous too!

Definitely somewhere to try if you haven't been before. 8/10
