For location alone this pub has to be a 10. I heard it being discussed in the Builders, New Barnet just the other day. Haven't been there since it changed hands, but the crossing from Redbrook to Penallt is worth it alone.

Was rather splendid as the George - shabby and with the same decor as it had in 1950, but that was part of the charm. Now The Square Bar, last time I was in there a bloke started hitting his pregnant girlfriend. Haven't been back.

I have no idea what this pub is now called - I'm too old to drink in there anyway.

Good pub. Why the rhyming slanf name? This is The Warwick, always was, should still be.

Filled a much needed void in the Barnet drinking itinerary. So perish all pubs where the name is pointlessly changed to jolly things along.

The Cock and Dragon, Cockfosters
Good family pub on a Sunday afternoon after a walk in Trent Park. Staff are great - really attentive and genuinely amused by the kids (we try and make sure our kids are well behaved, but the crisps in the slot machine are probably down to us!). Beers are good and well kept. Barnetblackdog may well have a point about Saturday nights, but this place was as rough as a badger's bum back in the 80s. It's a really nice now.

The Flask, Highgate
I'm inclined to agree with patricknight on the subject of customer perceptions. It's very easy to grumble, but running a pub is like running a combined restaurant, theatre, primary school and old-people's home rolled into one. This said, my experiences of the Flask have been generally quite agreeable. I loved the barbecue in the yard, is that still there in the Summer?
