The Gardeners Arms, Bilton

Used to finish work in town, go down to the beer garden on a sunny day for early doors and hear nothing but birdsong. Later, children may be there to play but they do not disturb, usually getting muddy in the beck.

A great place to relax, if you like Sam Smiths ale.

Good chain pub, landlord is ok but beware his rude partner.

Cheap average beer and food from the freezer in the main.

wifi for those who need it.

The Three Horseshoes, Harrogate

Reasonable beer, excellent food with very little packet stuff used, the chef preferring to do things correctly from scratch.

Travellers Rest, Harrogate

Good selection of beers well kept. Traditional pub with beer garden, no obtrusive music or TV. Children's play area, coaches allowed with notice. Log fires in winter.
