Great pub. Definitely worth the stroll away from the centre of Blackheath for the calm and fine pint.

The Princess Alice, West Thamesmead
Simply dreadful. From the pizza boxes blowing across the the car park to the big burly bouncers, to the half-hearted bar staff, and a decidedly mixed clientele many of whom you would not like to meet out in the street.
Food was a limp lukewarm burger and fish which had to go back. Beer not even worthy of a comment.
One positive is at least you can hold a conversation without lots of background noise or music. The only pub for miles in the area, but you would be better off buying cans and a bag of crisps from the tesco across the carpark and staying in the car before driving somewhere decent.

Great for a High Street pub. Clean, good staff, decent beer, and friendly atmosphere. Perfect for an afternoon drink or evening out. Definitely the best pub in Eltham (OK - I know, the competition could be better .... but it is still the best).

Fantastic historic building and great location and gardens, just a shame the interior and overall ambiance do not rise to the level of the setting. Still, OK for a pint, but could be so much better.

The Park Tavern, Eltham
Excellent little pub. Visited for the first time on Sunday lunchtime and friendly welcome, good decor (agree that the bar itself isn't quite right), gentle chattering clientele, and 2 nice pints of Theakstons. I'll be back.
