A pub with a good atmosphere last Friday night but let down by the beer choice. Four Guinness pumps but not one ale choice - and the Heineken was off. Nethertheless I still had change from £7 for the two pints I did order which is a refreshing change in London these days.

This pub's in a great location as the large beer garden opens up onto Beddington Park. Unfortunately that's the only positive. The beer garden, despite being in a great location, has litter every - clearly the staff do not pick it up at all, which would be fine if idiots did not drop it in the first place.
Agree with the comment below about the clientele. Despite a good looking building from the outside, the inside is tired and has not been refurbished for a while.
Not a place I'll be rushing back to.

10 years ago The Bear was one of the better pubs in Twickenham. I went in on Saturday evening, my first visit in a long time, and I'm sad to say it's massively deteriorated.
An uneasy atmosphere in the place where you feel someones going to 'kick off' at any moment. Bar staff are happy to do the bare (bear?) minimum and more interested in chatting to their mates. And when are pubs going to stop playing pumping loud music on an evening? There's no place to dance!
Not likely to return.

Duke of Clarence, Hampton Hill
This is a poor pub. A shame as it used to have character when I regularly visited 15 years ago and is in a good location on the High Street.
Went in on Saturday evening and all of the ale was off. So were all but two of the lagers - the most expensive two. The young chap behind the bar couldn't of cared less in his job and made no effort. The furniture is tired and falling apart and the place smelled.
We had one drink before moving on. A disappointment as it looks smart from the outside. There's not a great deal of good pubs in the area but this is certainly not one of the better ones.

Echo the sentiments of others. Grotty, dim and filthy. Due to the location it will always be packed on match days - but there are far better pubs in Twickenham. The Eel Pie or the Fox for instance.

I can't really fault this pub. It has a nice character about it and the current staff are friendly enough. Good range of beer and excellent food with good size portions. Admittedly it was not full last Saturday evening - what pub is round here? - but that's probably another reason why we had a good time.
Open fire which is always nice to see, and when I left my phone on another seat it was returned to me by another punter via the bar staff - always a nice touch.
Definitely one to visit if around there of a weekend.
p.s. actually one gripe - nowhere could I see why it's called the Peasant... I also assumed it's to do with the Revolt but it would be a nice touch to have a plaque or something up in the pub explaining the name.

A good shaped pub with loads of room. Not a great selection of Ales on tap, in fact pretty poor. Very much a local pub, and a shame that they all insist on hanging around the bar making it difficult to get to it. A shame as there's so much other space to use. Twats like that should be dealt with by the bar staff better.

Not bad. Probably the best pub in Hampton Hill. Quite expensive but very well maintained. Ales were good.

Was in here a few weeks ago and had a couple of surprisingly good ales, and a very good steak & ale pie.
An odd drinking policy - all drinks served in plastic cups despite us drinking indoors... at 4pm... on a Tuesday. Apparently this is "the river policy". Bollox.
Bar staff range from decent to highly incompetent, i.e. can't print a recent, wrong drinks orders, one says no tab only for another to contradict, dried blood under the barman's fingernails etc. Plenty of better choices in Hammersmith.

Could this be the best pub in Richmond? The sort of pub you imagine England should have. Good if not great range of ales, but if that's the worst thing about it, then i'm being facetious

Joes Bar and Restaurant, Hampton Hill
Not a Tesco Express! That's down the High Street. Went in on Sunday and had an excellent meal. Not suprising though since it's a restaraunt and, only at a real stretch you may be able to call it a bar.

So it has more atmosphere then Pratts and Payne in Streatham and probably then the BBC as well. Good pub quiz as well, always a winner. Usually a decent selection of ales too. This time Antic have got the 'cool without trying too hard' look almost spot on.

And I agree. Calling every town that starts with a St as St. Reatham / St. Evenage etc. is neither big or clever

Good pub. And as it's off the main road it doesn't get overcrowded. Happy to take the girlfriend when she needs a night out.

One of the best in Streatham. Certainly not a "fantastic pub" as others have said, but if you fancy a couple in a warm, decent boozer, you can't go far wrong.

It's clean, bright, good selection of ales with good customer service. But where's the soul? A perfectly honest pub but I prefer the White Lion or Leigham Arms down the road.

Went in a couple of Friday nights ago and it was not busy. Saying that I've certainly been to worse places and can think of at least 5 boozers in Kingston worse then this place. Decent ale selection

O'Neills, Kingston Upon Thames
Bog standars O'Neills, about the same as anywhere really. Good policy on football though.

Good Youngs pub off the high street. Plenty of character as others have said and decent friendly bar staff. A dirth of good pubs in Richmond, this is certainly one of the better ones

It's alright is the Anglers. Large pub so there's always somewhere to sit. Always have a fine selection of ales and all are consistently in good shape.
Seem to have at least four of five staff behind the bar so waiting times never an issue.
I don't know, I can't think of many bad things regarding the Anglers but I just does'nt really do it for me. Nethertheless I shall still visit from time to time to enjoy a good drink of the Seafarers.

The Teddington Arms, Teddington
Alot of effort to turn it into the prime pub/bar in Teddington, very smart interiors with a decent sized food area.
Two festive ales on at moment although I can't say either of them did much for me. The other three were off. More of a larger bar.
Not a bad drinking place for the middle of the week.

Nice quaint pub run by the gentleman Finbar. Unfortunatley let down by the quality of his ales. A shame as there is usually a good selection of them. If he sorted his pipes out he would get a lot more custome, although I don't think he's that worried about it.

Wonderful, friendly pub on the high street. PJ keeps his pipes in excellent condition, theres a solid selection of ales and lagers.
Can become a tight squeeze when the footballs on.
Good pub.

The Leather Bottle, Wimbledon Chase
Always a bit reticent of going a pub with loads of England flags outside, though found out later they're there to promote the 6 Nations so fair enough!
Not a bad selection of ales at all, and Speckled Hen on tap which was a nice touch. A good sized pub and very busy for a Thursday evening thanks to the football and the pub quiz.
This area is a bit of a desert for pubs so good to see a decent boozer.
