The Surrey, St Johns

I went to this pub again recently. From talking to the locals, the food has improved a bit, but I found management is still 'Peter Pan' and his little band of sycophants. The place needs taking in hand.

There are far too many children in this pub. They run around until all hours. They could do with a bit of maturity behind the bar also. The real ale is way too cold. I didn't sample the food, but it seemed to be 'Pub Fast'

The Speaker, Westminster

If you haven't been to the Speaker, in Westminster, you're really missing something. It's been said on this site before that the beer is excellent. It is. That you can go in on your own and have an enjoyable time. You can. But there is an under-lying enthusiasm from the staff, and sepecially the manager which creates the unrivalled ambiance. The beer festivals never stop and there is a feeling that the place's whole reason for existance is to make your life better.
