The Fox, Twickenham

I've been to The fox twice in the last month.
On the first occasion, along with a couple of mates, we found the Naked ladies in undrinkable condition even though it had been served up as if in good condition.
So we opted for Jennings Lakeland stunner which looked like beer but, quite frankly, tasted more like lakeland water.
On my second visit last week I had a pint of the local stuff-Twickenham Sundancer
which looked OK but again tasted quite watery. I'm seriously beginning to smell a rat here.
Anyone else noticed similar at this pub?

The Lion, Teddington

I think BITE might need to review the rating for this once great establishment as it has been rendered virtually non-existent as a local pub. Empty every time I walk by because it's old regulars are simply not returning.

The Teddington Arms, Teddington

Good beer (real ale)served here like most capital pubs.
Unfortunately the 4-6 heavy looking gentlemen that were allowed to ruin the atmosphere at The Lion in Wick Road -before it eventually closed- seem to have taken up permanent residence here. Fair enough if they found their own little corner as this is a fairly big place. But every time I go in they're superglued to the bar as if this was the kind of tiny front room local that they're used to spoiling. Plus, yep you guessed it, they pop out onto the pavement for a ciggie every ten minutes. Nice! I know they're there due to having been barred from most of the other pubs in town but surely one more wouldn't hurt?

In there week before last and the woman with the black hair is still pulling up short pints.
Did top it up when I asked but I doubt she'd have been as graceful if I hadn't been with a bunch of mates who drink there every day. Have to say they're only there for the Naked Ladies.

The William Web Ellis, Twickenham

Only been here during the afternoon so this may well be a hellhole in the evenings but IMHO this is a well run establishment with a constant turnover of top quality real ales. The staff are smart, attentive, intelligent and know their ale.
Compared to The King's Tun, which is the most depressing shithole, the Webb Ellis is like drinking in a smart lounge bar.

The Kings Tun, Kingston Upon Thames

The managers of the Lloyd's No1 chain appear to be left to their own devices.
The William Webb Ellis in Twickenham is a superbly run establishment with a constant turnover of top quality real ales. When I say you wouldn't know you were in a Wetherspoons pub I think most people will get my meaning. The staff are smart, attentive, intelligent and know their ale.
Unfortunately, none of the above can be said about The King's Tun.
This may be the most depressingly offensive pub I've ever been to.
The place is dirty and stinks.
The bar staff have permanently given the few grey cells they share the day off.
There is absolutely no vetting of customers - hence the place is mainly populated by Kingston's low-life.
Only yesterday some lunatic was threatening to hit me for no reason, before I even had a pint in my hand. - the girl serving me looked terrified.
Whereas I'll happily spend a couple of hours in The Webb Ellis with drinking mates from Richmond I use the Kingston version for a quick, cheap thirst quencher.
The emphasis being on quick.

The Masons Arms, Teddington

Totally agree with the last poster. If what you're after is a cracking pint in a warm atmosphere without any of the bullshit you find in many pubs today, or their rip-off prices, then this is well worth a visit. I've had the Quadhop �3.10 on three or four occasions recently - absolute nectar.

The Canbury Arms, Kingston Upon Thames

I paid my first visit to The Canbury yesterday and was pleased to see a nice range of ales on the bar. However, charging �3.55 a pint in what is ostensibly a back street pub, in a not particularly nice part of Kingston, is completely taking the piss. Not even in great condition either.
