If ever you are in Brighton visit this place.
I have been here a few times over the years and it's always remained consistant with excellent service, decent prices (the house wine is really good!) and mainly fun!
It's on the rat run for Stag and Hen weekends in the summer time but the managers keep a really tight hold on these parties and do not let them dominate.
Always a good night to be had there and think that anyway can enjoy what it has to offer.

I went into the new Oak last Friday and was really surprised. From the outside it looked like it may be 'chain' pub (it isn�t) but went in anyway under recommendation.
Loved it!
Really relaxed and lively atmosphere, great food, excellent bar staff (attentive, smart and care about serving/talking to you rather than talking to each other), and the most surprising... it wasn't actually expensive, at all. The wine and larger prices were the same if not less that what I pay in other local pubs, as was the food (I must point out I like to eat good food, not �pub grub� so you will find cheaper in pubs that defrost and deep fry their meals) and with 10% off everything in January is worked out even better value for money.
Would highly recommend it and have already made my return visit.

I canot rate this pub enough!! It's just great and the outside bar for drunken post rugby / football games it excellent, fun and non-agressive. Worth a visit at all times as well due to good staff, food and drink.

Do it Do it Do it. ... Do it! I visit this pub about once a week and never fail to have a good time. It caters for all sorts and thinks it does a great job at being a great pub!

Cramped... overpriced (clean i must admit).. but most importantly... it's BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORING!!

Why has this place had such a hard time... there absolutly nothing wrong with it.. and yes.. if you want a bar.. then go to one... this is a restaurant - with a charming and small drinking area in it!!
The staff and food are both well above standard.

The Tide End Cottage, Teddington
What a find!! I stumbled across this little boozer about two weeks ago and thought it was lovely! The staff are lovely and the food and drink good. Although some of the customers are set in thier ways, i think it gives great charater. Defo worth a look.

Almost got glassed as someone took objection to the trousers my friend was wearing... the bouncer was very helpful and watched us try to reason with man from his position on the door.
There are so many nicer places to go in Kingston along the river side and around the market place.
